ZP health department officials visit Bajajnagar vaccination centre

Aurangabad, June 29:

A detailed report was published by the Lokmat Times regarding the ruckus at the vaccination center in Bajajnagar. Taking note of the news, a team from Zilla Parishad (ZP) health department visited the center and held discussions with citizens and health workers today.

A large crowd of citizens are gathering at ZP school in Bajajnagar and Pandharpur for covid vaccination. There was a commotion in Bajajnagar on Monday as citizens thronged the vaccination centres in large numbers. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the stampede. A team of the ZP health department, which was woken up by this incident, visited the vaccination center in Bajajnagar today and reviewed the vaccination campaign. Mother and child welfare officer Dr Rekha Bhandari, tehsil medical officer Dr Prashant Date, medical officer Dr Sangram Bamne visited the center and took information about the incident. Meanwhile, doctors and staff of the health department informed the officials that the ruckus is being caused due to the low supply of vaccines at the center. The staff also pointed out that doctors and staff have to face the wrath of the citizens as the Gram Panchayat and revenue administration are not providing staff to control the crowd at the vaccination center. The team officials interacted with the citizens who came for vaccination and learned about their problems. Dr Bhandari said that she would propose to the ZP chief executive officer Dr Mangesh Gondawale to increase the stock of vaccines at Bajajnagar and Pandharpur vaccination centers.
