Food delivery apps Swiggy and Zomato were down for some users on Wednesday afternoon due to technical issues. Customer support handles of both companies responded to the messages, saying they were working on resolving the "temporary glitch".  Zomato and Swiggy are set to face an investigation by the antitrust regulator over platform neutrality concerns raised by the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI).

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has noted that downstream commercial interest of Swiggy and Zomato through private labels and cloud kitchens may affect platform neutrality and requires detailed examination. The order comes months after the National Restaurant Association of India’s (NRAI) raised concerns over the platforms’ dealing with restaurant partners. It also had alleged that the companies also offered their facilities to some brands for additional fees or rental commissions.
