Gandhinagar, July 13 Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, while launching the allocation of plots to the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) units through computerized draw system, on Monday said that the state has disbursed relief of Rs 458 crore to industries under 'Atmanirbhar' Gujarat package.

The chief minister allocated plots through computerized draw to 127 MSME units of Chattar-Mitana Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC). The launching of allocation program was carried out from the CM residence in Gandhinagar and was organised by the GIDC.

The CM also carried out public dedication of 2 CETP plants of 40 MLD capacity to treat the polluted waters of the industrial estates of Dahej and Saykha.

"Gujarat is the best destination for investment for global industrialists. It is also number one in the least rate of unemployment in the country. Gujarat is also number one in manufacturing. This is because of Gujarat's clear policy, transparency, commitment of ease of doing business and easy environment for industries, because of which global industries are inspired to come to the state," Rupani said.

"Gujarat is providing direct employment to more than 18 lakh people working in 60,000 units in 217 GIDC estates in the state. Gujarat is also progressing as far as per capita income is concerned," Rupani added.

"We are committed to conquer coronavirus. We are glad that the mortality rate in the state is now falling but we want to bring it down further," he said further.

"Last year in July, the industrial electricity consumption was 207 million units and this year also in July we have the same, 207 million units of consumption. Which means that the situation has returned to normal and the industrial units in the state are once again vibrant. Gujarat has always converted obstacles into opportunities and come out with rapid development after crisis like earthquakes and cyclones. Gujarat once again be on the track of speedier development after the coronavirus crisis too," added Rupani.
