Chennai Super Kings (CSK) made a strong move on the first day of the IPL 2025 mega auction by signing both experienced and new talent. CSK used their Right to Match (RTM) card to keep players Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra. They also bought experienced off-spinner R Ashwin for ₹9.75 crore.

Ashwin, who previously played for CSK from 2009 to 2015, returns to the franchise after a decade. The veteran off-spinner brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in the IPL.
