India Women’s National Cricket Team: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will announce India’s squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 on Saturday, May 2, the board confirmed in a social media post on Wednesday, Apri; 29, 2026. The squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against England will also be named alongside the World Cup squad. The England series is expected to serve as final preparation for the tournament.
India’s squad is likely to retain a similar core to the side that recently toured South Africa, with only a few potential changes. Harmanpreet Kaur is expected to lead the side, with Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh forming the core batting group. Deepti Sharma is set to play a key all-round role, alongside options such as Arundhati Reddy, Radha Yadav and Kashvee Gautam.
The bowling attack is expected to feature Renuka Singh Thakur, Shreyanka Patil and Kranti Gaud, supported by all-rounders.
India have been placed in Group A for the tournament, alongside Australia, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh and the Netherlands.
They will open their campaign against Pakistan on June 14 at Edgbaston in Birmingham, before facing the Netherlands on June 17 at Headingley. India will then take on South Africa on June 21 at Old Trafford and Bangladesh on June 25, before concluding their group stage against Australia on June 28 at Lord’s in London.
