IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is likely to be available for the match 49 of the Indian Premier League 2026 against Punjab Kings at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
The 22-year-old all-rounder, who has been a vital contributor this season, missed SRH’s previous match due to illness. His absence was felt as Hyderabad suffered a heavy defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Reddy is yet to be officially cleared, but Vettori indicated a positive update ahead of the fixture. “I spoke to him this morning, and he's feeling a lot better. He's going to train today, but we don't foresee a situation where he won't play tomorrow,” Vettori said as quoted by Cricbuzz.
Reddy’s availability remains subject to final fitness clearance, but team management appears optimistic about his inclusion for the crucial clash.
The upcoming match holds significant importance for both sides. Punjab, led by Shreyas Iyer, have lost two of their last five matches, while SRH saw their winning streak halted by KKR.
Punjab currently top the standings with 13 points from nine matches, while Hyderabad sit third with 12 points from 10 games. A win for either side would strengthen their chances of securing a playoff berth.
