IPL 2026, RCB vs KKR Today Match: The Match 57 of IPL 2026 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders has been delayed due to persistent rain and a wet outfield at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, raising the possibility of another washout in the tournament.

If the match is abandoned without a result, both teams will receive one point each as per IPL regulations. While such a result would not hurt RCB’s playoff chances too much, it could deal a massive blow to KKR’s hopes of qualifying for the playoffs.

KKR currently sit eighth in the IPL 2026 points table with nine points from 10 matches. Before the RCB clash, the defending champions still had a realistic path to the playoffs, as victories in all their remaining four matches could have taken them to 17 points.

However, a washout in Raipur would reduce their maximum possible tally to 16 points from 14 matches.

In that scenario, KKR would move to 10 points from 11 games and would then need to win each of their remaining three matches to stay alive in the playoff race. Even then, qualification would not be guaranteed.

The biggest concern for KKR remains their poor net run rate, which currently stands in the negative. With several teams likely to finish on 16 points this season, net run rate could become the deciding factor for the final playoff spots.

As a result, simply winning their remaining matches may not be enough for Ajinkya Rahane’s side. They would also need convincing victories by big margins to improve their net run rate significantly.

KKR would additionally depend on favourable results from other matches. Teams such as Punjab Kings, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals dropping points could help keep the race open for the Kolkata-based franchise.

Meanwhile, a washout would take RCB to 15 points from 12 matches and keep them firmly in contention for a top-two finish. However, it would prevent them from overtaking Gujarat Titans at the top of the standings.

The ongoing IPL 2026 season has so far witnessed only one abandoned match due to rain, when KKR’s home clash against Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens was washed out earlier in the tournament.
