IPL 2026, CSK vs LSG Today Match: Former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni remains unavailable for Chennai Super Kings’ IPL 2026 clash against Lucknow Super Giants at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

Dhoni has not played a single match in the ongoing IPL 2026 season due to a persistent calf injury suffered during the pre-season training camp. Although the veteran wicketkeeper-batter has resumed practice sessions with the CSK squad and has been training regularly at Chepauk, the franchise has not officially confirmed his return to the playing XI.

The franchise management has also ensured that Dhoni keeps a low profile on matchdays. Reports suggest the former India captain has intentionally avoided sitting in the dugout during home games so the focus remains on the active squad and younger players are not distracted by the attention surrounding him.

With only four league-stage matches remaining for CSK in IPL 2026, speculation around Dhoni’s future continues to intensify.

In Dhoni’s absence, Sanju Samson has handled wicketkeeping duties and played a major role in Chennai’s recent revival. Samson has emerged as CSK’s leading batter this season and guided the side to an important eight-wicket win over Delhi Capitals in their previous match. Lucknow Super Giants, meanwhile, are fighting to stay alive in the playoff race and will look to build momentum after their recent win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
