Half-centuries from Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan helped SRH post a massive 235/4 after Punjab Kings elected to bowl first.

Punjab Kings, despite a fighting century from Cooper Connolly, were restricted to 202/7 in 20 overs and suffered their third consecutive defeat of the season.

Klaasen capitalised on a dropped chance early in his innings to score 69 runs off 43 deliveries, smashing three fours and four sixes. Kishan also made the most of Punjab’s sloppy fielding after surviving a dropped catch and a missed stumping to score 55 off 32 balls, including two boundaries and four sixes.

The pair stitched together a crucial partnership in the middle overs to put the visitors under pressure. Earlier, SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma provided an explosive start as Hyderabad raced past the 50-run mark inside four overs.

For Punjab Kings, Yuzvendra Chahal was the most economical bowler with figures of 1/32, although the leg-spinner endured a frustrating evening as the dropped chances and missed stumping all came off his bowling.

Chasing 236, PBKS suffered early setbacks and lost wickets at regular intervals. Connolly stood firm at one end and produced a valiant unbeaten 107 off 59 balls, hitting seven fours and eight sixes, but lacked support from the other batters.

SRH captain Pat Cummins led from the front with the ball, returning figures of 2/34, while Shivang Kumar also picked up two wickets.

The victory lifted SRH to 14 points from 11 matches, while Punjab Kings slipped to second place after another disappointing outing away from home.
