IPL 2026, PBKS vs MI Today Match: Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya is likely to miss the upcoming Match 58 of the Indian Premier League 2026 against Punjab Kings at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala due to an ongoing back niggle, according to the several media reports.
Mumbai Indians have endured a disappointing IPL 2026 campaign and are already out of playoff contention after managing only three wins in 11 matches. Injuries and inconsistent performances have heavily impacted the five-time champions throughout the season.
Hardik’s fitness has become one of the biggest concerns for the franchise in recent weeks. The all-rounder had already missed matches against Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru earlier this month because of the same issue. During his absence, Suryakumar Yadav led the side as stand-in captain.
Reports have also suggested that Hardik remains doubtful for Mumbai Indians’ clash against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 20.
Despite being sidelined, the MI skipper was recently seen practising alone in the nets. Hardik shared shared a video as his Instagram story late on Tuesday night. The video shows MI skipper taking part in a solo batting practice session in the nets with the help of throwdown specialists and net bowlers.
Mumbai Indians currently sit ninth in the IPL 2026 points table with six points from 11 games.
