IPL  2026, RCB vs DC Today Match: Lungi Ngidi is unlikely to feature in today’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Ngidi sustained a head injury during Delhi Capitals’ previous match against Punjab Kings after falling awkwardly while attempting a catch. He was taken off the field by ambulance and later hospitalised for evaluation.

Subsequent medical assessments confirmed that the South African pacer did not suffer a serious injury, and he has since rejoined the squad. However, he remains under concussion protocols, which require multiple checks before clearance for match participation.

Team management is expected to take a cautious approach, making Ngidi unlikely to be included in the playing XI for the fixture against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Delhi Capitals are already dealing with bowling concerns, with Mitchell Starc also unavailable for the match as he continues his return-to-play program. In Ngidi’s absence, options such as Dushmantha Chameera or Kyle Jamieson could be considered.

The final decision on Ngidi’s availability will depend on last-minute medical clearance, but he is not expected to play in today’s match.
