Former Australia opener Chris Rogers has been signed  in as the head new coach of Victoria for a term of 2 years. Rogers replaces, Andrew McDonald who left to be Justin Langer's deputy with the national side.Rogers had competition from Hodge as well as the current Melbourne Renegades coach - and another former cricketer - Michael Klinger, but landed the job eventually. Rogers himself brings a bit of coaching experience after having been one with Cricket Australia's high-performance department and led the Aussie tyros in this year's U-19 World Cup.

"I've been lucky enough to work with many of the Victorian players in recent years and I look forward to working with them to achieve individual and team success."Victoria finished second behind New South Wales in the truncated 2019-20 Sheffield Shield competition but were second-to-last in the most recent edition of the domestic limited overs tournament, the Marsh One-Day Cup. Former Aussie stars Michael Klinger and Brad Hodge were some of the other contenders for the post. It was only last week that Jason Gillespie was named the head coach of South Australia.
