The Union government on Monday gave formal approval to host the 13th edition of the IPL in the United Arab Emirates. This information was given by the chairman of the league Brijesh Patel. The IPL will be held in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai from September 19 to November 10.

Preparations have also begun for all eight teams in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a focus on player safety. Cricket fans who have been eager to see the thrill of the IPL for the last six months are also happy. But, today's news probably to many of them.

The league, which runs from September 19 to November 10, will feature 10 double-header matches (3.30pm). Meanwhile, the Women's Twenty20 Challenge will be played with four matches between the three teams.

Star Sports Channel has acquired the rights to broadcast the IPL live. Besides, IPL matches can be watched on Hotstar app.

For those who do not have a Hotstar subscription, they had the option of JIO Tv app to watch IPL matches. But now, news is coming that shocks millions of Geo customers.

Jio will no longer be able to broadcast the 13th season of the IPL live. Nothing has come out of the ongoing deal between Hotstar and JIO TV over the right to a live broadcast.

According to e4M, there was no agreement between Hotstar and Geo TV on the IPL broadcast and so Geo withdrew.

"Jio TV and Hotstar had held talks in March on live telecasts of IPL matches, but no agreement was reached between them. The deal has now been terminated. But, something could happen at the last minute, ”said the expert.

The 2019 IPL gave Hotstar nearly 300 million viewers. Compared to 2018, this figure increased by 74 percent. The final match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians was watched by 18.6 million people.

Hotstar expects all these records to be broken this year. Customers had to subscribe after a 5-minute broadcast on Hotstar, but JIo TV was showing their customers free IPL matches.
