The Indian cricket team, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, clinched the T20 World Cup with a historic victory over South Africa. This win, celebrated across the nation, signifies the long-awaited return of the World Cup trophy to India.

On Wednesday, Rohit Sharma, India's ODI and Test captain, along with BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, visited the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai to offer their prayers.

They brought the World Cup trophy with them, and their photo has since gone viral on social media.

On June 29, India secured the T20 World Cup title for the second time in history by defeating South Africa by seven runs in the final.

Following the historic victory, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement from T20 cricket. The day after, Ravindra Jadeja also bid farewell to the format.

Rohit Sharma became the third Indian captain to win an ICC Trophy, following in the footsteps of Kapil Dev and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
