Anurag Kashyap was accused by actress Payal Ghosh of sexual harassment and bad treatment in 2014 at his residence. The actress also stated that she wanted to complain then but she was afraid of the consequences. But now she has decided to come out and speak about it. Following her allegations, many filmmakers like Hansal Mehta, Guneet Monga, Anubhav Sinha and actors like, Taapsee Pannu, Surveen Chawla, Tisca Chopra and others have come out in support of the filmmaker. While Payal has received support from none other than the ‘Queen’ star Kangana Ranaut. Now filmmaker Ananad Kumar has alleged that Payal had made similar statements against cricketer Irrfan Pathan too.
Anand Kumar tweeted, ‘ Payal deleted a post by making such allegations against cricketer Irfan Pathan. He wrote, a few days ago Payal Ghosh said the same thing about Irfan Pathan, how he had cheated him. But this post was deleted after a while. Mumbai Police should find out the truth, Instagram will definitely record this post.While maintaining that he is not defending anyone, Anand Kumar further questioned the authenticity of the #MeToo movement and tweeted, “Why after few years of the act people come out .. Listening to #PayalGhosh language clearly shows she had the guts to vomit about all this at that point of time too... Not defending anyone but mostly first wave of #MeToo was all fake #AnuragKashyap”. While speaking to ETimes about the unfortunate incident, Payal had stated, "I had tweeted about my incident sometime ago when the MeToo movement had happened, but many people told me to delete the tweet else I would stop getting work. My manager too advised me to remove the tweet. I complied. Post that, Anurag blocked me on WhatsApp."Payal marked her debut in Bollywood in 2017 with 'Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi' wherein she essayed the role of Paresh Rawal's daughter.
