In a major move today the producers of Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Gulaba Sitabo decided to release their much delayed film digitally due to the coronavirus pandemic. After much speculations the makers finally decided to skip theatrical run and decided to release the movie on Amazon Prime from June 12 onwards. However the decesion has not gone well with INOX theatres who have expressed their displeasure.

In a official statement the theatre stakeholders said, "INOX would like to express extreme displeasure and disappointment on an announcement made by a production house today, to release their movie directly on an OTT platform by skipping the theatrical window run. The decision of the production house to deviate from the globally prevalent content windowing practice is alarming and disconcerting."

The film’s leading men Big B and Ayushmann also confirmed the news of the film digital release on social media. Helmed by Shoojit Sircar, the film reunites the director with his ‘Vicky Donor’ star Ayushmann and ‘Piku’ star Amitabh Bachchan.
