Karan Johar has found himself in the firing line after the tragic demise of Sushant Singh Rajput with many blaming the filmmaker for the Kedaranath actor's demise. It is also reported that all films of Kjo are likely to be banned in Bihar and Patna. Meanwhile, amidst the growing anger against the director, the news of Karan Johar being dropped from Sooryavanshi began doing the rounds on social media.  However, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted to say that Karan is very much still a part of the project. He wrote on Twitter: “IMPORTANT... News doing the rounds of #KaranJohar not being part of #Sooryavanshi is untrue, clarifies #RelianceEntertainment.

The filmmaker also unfollowed all the celebrity Twitter accounts. He follows only eight Twitter accounts, of which only three belong to actors - Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar. Sooryavanshi is the next film in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe which is being bankrolled by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. Sooryavanshi was expected to hit the screens in March this year but had to be postponed in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.It was recently announced that Sooryavanshi will open on Diwali this year. The film also stars Katrina Kaif as the lead heroine.
