The last few weeks have been quite tough for Karan Johar after the filmmaker found himself in the centre of a new controversy. Kjo As per new reports in Mumbai Mirror, has decided to step down from the board of MAMI film festival.  The filmmaker is apparently unhappy that none of his fraternity members stood by him in this nepotism debate and hence took the decision to distance himself from the prestigious film festival. 

According to reports, he is not even contemplating on his decision and has already mailed his resignation letter to the festival’s artistic director Smriti Kiran. In addition, the reports also stated that the chairperson for the MAMI film festival, Deepika Padukone did try to convince him to rethink his decision. However, her attempts went in vain as Karan was very firm on his part. Besides him, the other board members include Zoya Akhtar, Kabir Khan, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Vikramaditya Motwane and Rohan Sippy. After the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput Kjo has found himelf in the firing line with fans holding him responisble for the actor's suicide.
