Karuppu Box Office Collection Day 5: Suriya-Trisha’s Film Nears Rs 100 Crore Nett in India; Check Day-Wise Earnings Report

Karuppu Box Office Collection Day 5: Suriya and Trisha Krishnan-starrer Karuppu continued its impressive theatrical run as it moved closer to the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office on Day 5. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the RJ Balaji directorial fantasy action drama collected Rs 12.75 crore net across 6,093 shows on its fifth day (Tuesday). With this, the total India net collection has reached Rs 95.05 crore, while the India gross stands at Rs 110.04 crore. Overseas, the film added Rs 4 crore gross on Day 5, taking its total overseas collection to Rs 51 crore. After five days, the worldwide gross collection now stands at Rs 161.04 crore.

The Tamil version continued to dominate the box office with Rs 10.55 crore net and 42 percent occupancy across 4,362 shows. Meanwhile, the Telugu version collected Rs 2.20 crore net from 1,731 shows with 24 percent occupancy. Overall occupancy for Day 5 stood at 36.9 percent.

Karuppu has already surpassed the lifetime domestic collections of several recent Suriya films. Etharkkum Thunindhavan had collected Rs 49.10 crore net in India, while Kanguva earned Rs 70.37 crore and Retro collected Rs 60.58 crore during their theatrical runs.

The film also marks the reunion of Suriya and Trisha Krishnan after their 2005 film Aaru.

The cast also includes Yogi Babu, Indrans, Sshivada, Swasika, Natty, Supreeth Reddy and Anagha Maya Ravi in key roles, while RJ Balaji plays the antagonist Baby Kannan.
