In a major development, in the high profile, Aryan Khan drugs case, Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik posted a picture on Twitter of 'Sam Dsouza,' the alleged middleman in the cruise-drugs-case. Malik in the tweet claimed that the person's name is Sanville Steanley D'souza and not Sam D'souza. The minister tweeted a notice that was issued to D'souza by the NCB, bearing his real name. He also released an audio recording of the man talking to an NCB officer who had summoned him for questioning to the office. The NCB officer is heard directing Sanville to carry his phone along with him and also warning him against changing his number.

Sam D’Souza was named by Gosavi’s bodyguard Prabhakar Sail. The bodyguard had earlier filed an affidavit claiming that he overheard Gosavi speaking to one “Sam” to broker a deal for Rs 25 crore and then settle for Rs 18 crore. Sail had further alleged that Gosavi told the person on the other end of the phone that they have to pay Rs 8 crore to NCB’s zonal director Sameer Wankhede. Sam whose name cropped up in connection with the pay-off allegations surrounding the drugs-on-cruise case, on Monday claimed that he was told by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) witness KP Gosavi that no drugs were found on Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, during the agency’s raid in October. "In the wee hours of October 3, I came to know that the celebrity who was caught on the ship was Aryan Khan. That time Aryan told Gosavi that he wanted to talk to his manager Pooja Dadlani. Gosavi conveyed Aryan's message. That time Gosavi told me that Aryan Khan was clean and no drugs were found in his possession. He said we can help him (Aryan Khan)," D'Souza claimed, according to PTI.
