Having steadily built a diverse filmography across industries, Malavika Mohanan has consistently chosen roles that reflect range and reinvention. From her Malayalam debut in Pattam Pole to her internationally noted performance in Beyond the Clouds, and mainstream commercial entertainers like Master, Maaran, and Christy, she has balanced content-driven cinema with large-scale productions. Each project has showcased a different facet of her screen presence — be it intense drama, romance, or action — positioning her as an actor unafraid to step into varied cinematic territories.

The actress is now gearing up for her next film, Pocket Novel, a thriller directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, where she will star alongside Vijay Sethupathi. The project further underlines her continued effort to explore new genres and collaborate with distinctive filmmakers.

Speaking about her upcoming film Sardar 2, Malavika expressed excitement about both the experience and the challenges it brought. “I am awaiting the release of Sardar 2 as well. I really enjoyed being a part of it. I shot some very cool and challenging sequences in it. Some of the action scenes, in particular, were nerve-wracking, and at times, technically challenging to pull off. However, I’m excited to see how it’s translated on screen. It’s a character unlike any other I’ve played before. All in all, it’s a unique space that I haven’t explored before.”

She highlighted how the film pushed her physically and creatively, especially through demanding action sequences that required precision and preparation. For Malavika, the experience marked a departure from her earlier roles and allowed her to tap into a space she had not explored before.

Emphasising her conscious effort to avoid repetition, the actress added, “I try not to choose the same kind of roles and not to stereotype myself into one space. I do not want to be boxed. I like to experiment, challenge myself, learn during the process, and work with good directors and in good movies. So it’s a mix of different things.”

With Sardar 2 and Pocket Novel on the horizon, Malavika Mohanan once again signals her commitment to versatility, growth, and meaningful cinema, reinforcing her place as one of the most dynamic actors of her generation.
