Veteran filmmaker Johny Bakshi passed away in Mumbai on Saturday.The veteran director producer suffered cardiac arrest. Bakshi was admitted to the Arogya Nidhi hospital in Juhu, Mumbai where he was diagnosed with a lung infection. Johnny Bakshi had produced many films including Vishwasghaat, Raavan, Manzilein Aur Bhi Hain, Mera Dost Mera Dushman, Bhairavi and Kahraare.

Filmmaker Kunal Kohli and Anupam Kher mourned the demise of the veteran director. He also directed the Rajesh Khanna starrer Khudai (1994). Bakshi has also acted in films like Haar Jeet (1990) and Papa Kehte Hai (1996).Bakshi worked with several filmmakers and actors, and was also a member of Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA).Johnny Bakshi is survived by his son, actor Brando Bakshi.
