Raja Shivaji: Riteish Deshmukh–Genelia’s Son Rahyl Makes Acting Debut (Watch Video)

Raja Shivaji: Rahyl Deshmukh, the 10-year-old son of actor-filmmaker Riteish Deshmukh and actor Genelia Deshmukh, has made his acting debut in the upcoming historical film Raja Shivaji. Rahyl portrays a young Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the film. He appears in the recently released trailer in a brief sequence depicting Shivaji’s childhood, including a scene in which the young character questions the idea of Swarajya during a conversation with his brother.

Rahyl, born June 2, 2016, is the couple’s second son. His parents have not publicly commented on his debut.

The film features a large ensemble cast from Hindi and Marathi cinema, including Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Vidya Balan, Genelia Deshmukh, Mahesh Manjrekar, Amol Gupte, Bhagyashree, Jitendra Joshi, Boman Irani, Sachin Khedekar, Fardeen Khan and others.

Riteish Deshmukh also confirmed that Salman Khan will feature in the film. Speaking during a recent episode of Bigg Boss Marathi Season 6, which he hosts, Deshmukh said Salman Khan is also part of the project.

Presented by Jio Studios, the film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh under the banner of Mumbai Film Company. It is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1, 2026, in both Marathi and Hindi.
