Raja Shivaji Trailer Launch: Riteish Deshmukh Brings Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Legacy to Life

 The trailer of  Riteish Deshmukh’s upcoming film, Raja Shivaji was finally unveiled today  at an event held in Mumbai.  The movie promises to be a grand tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. In the trailer, there's action, romance, drama, and amazing music by Ajay-Atul. On social media, the star and director Riteish shared the first trailer of the historical film. His son is also playing a younger version of Shivaji. The action-filled promo has Abhishek, Sanjay, Vidya and Riteish's wife Genelia as Saibai, the wife of Chhatrapati Shivaji, shown in grand style. Raja Shivaji is following the Maratha warrior's life; Abhishek is playing the role of his elder brother. The actor-filmmaker has worked on the film for nearly 25 years.

Headlined and helmed by Riteish Deshmukh, who also serves as the film’s writer and producer, Raja Shivaji celebrates the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Raja Shivaji brings together an ensemble including Sanjay Dutt as Afzal Khan, Abhishek Bachchan as Sambhaji Shahaji Maharaj (Shivaji Maharaj's brother), Sachin Khedekar as Shahaji Raje Bhosale, Bhagyashree as Jijabai, Vidya Balan as Badi Begum (Adilshah's wife), Fardeen Khan as Shah Jahan, Jitendra Joshi as Pant, Amol Gupte as Adilshah and Genelia Deshmukh as Sai Bai.

Presented by Jio Studios, Raja Shivaji, a Mumbai Film Company production, is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh. Raja Shivaji, a historical epic based on the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is set to release in cinemas worldwide on May 1, 2026, in Marathi and Hindi.
