Ranveer Allahbadia Loses Followers; YouTuber Likely To Lose Brand Deals Amid India’s Got Latent Controversy

YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, is facing legal and public backlash over his ‘will you watch your parents have sex’ question projected on comedian Samay Raina's show, India's Got Latent.  His overall social media subscriber/follower has declined  in two days is around 142,000, according to an analysis by Qoruz, an influencer marketing intelligence platform.

His Instagram account @ranveerallahbadia saw a decline of 29,000 followers in two days. His second Instagram account, @beerbiceps, saw a drop of 43,000 followers since Monday. His YouTube channel Beer Biceps lost around 50,000 subscribers since Monday (February 10), while his other YouTube channel, Ranveer Allahabadia, lost 20,000 subscribers.On Instagram, he has lost 72,000 followers while on YouTube he has lost a total of 70,000 subscribers.This controversy will also cost him subscribers, and brand deals. Previously, he has collaborated with brands like Spotify, Mountain Dew, Amazon Prime Video, Intel, and Wow Skin Science, among others.

Singer B Praak, who was scheduled to appear on Ranveer Allahabadia’s podcast took to his Instagram handle to share that he would not appear on his podcast. In a comment on an Instagram post, B Praak wrote, “I was about to go on Ranveer’s podcast but now i will not after his pathetic thinking and words dosto dekhlo yeh wohi hai. Who promotes Sanatan Dharam and talks about spirituality hats off to his thinking about parents and spoiling our Indian culture. Chose your Idols carefully. ”Post the controversy, Ranveer Allahabadia took to his Instagram handle to share a video. In the video, he apologised for his comment and said, “Comedy is not my forte. Just here to say sorry.” He added, “I promise to just get better. Have asked the makers of the video to remove the insensitive sections from the video.” The controversy has also attracted several FIRs and summons. The Assam Police on Monday filed a case against Ranveer and the other influencers present in the video including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija and others for promoting obscenity. The news was confirmed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
