RGV watches Liger: Filmmaker says Vijay Deverakonda's screen presence is greater than any other star

Vijay Deverakonda is all set to mark his debut in Bollywood with Karan Johar backed ‘Liger’. He has shot extensively for the movie with leading lady Ananya Panday and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma had a chance to watch a few rushes of the movie ahead of its release. Reviewing the movie, RGV wrote, , "Saw scenes of @KaranJohar presented  #PuriJagan directed and @Charmmeofficial produced LIGER ..More than a CROSS between TIGER and LION @TheDeverakonda looks like a SUPER CROSS between @pawankalyan @urstrulyMahesh @RaviTeja_offl and @iTIGERSHROFF." In his next tweet, he wrote, "The SCREEN PRESENCE of @TheDeverakonda in LIGER Is GREATER than any STAR i have seen in the last 2 DECADES.. Thank you #PuriJagan and @Charmmeofficial for bringing it out."

The movie went on floors back in the month of January 2020 last year. However, the shooting soon came to a halt due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in India. The upcoming romantic sports drama was simultaneously shot in Hindi and Telugu language, it has also been dubbed in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages. Initially, the makers intend to release the film in November 2020. But the production halting of the film caused its postponement. Now, the makers are planning to release the film in the month of September, this year. Rumour mills had it that the makers of the film are considering the offer to release the film via OTT platform however, Vijay debunked all rumours in a official statement.
