Bollywood woke up to yet another shock as national award winning choreographer Saroj Khan passed away after prolonged illness. Born as Nirmala Nagpal, Saroj Khan began her career by playing the young Shyama onscreen in Nazarana. She soon became a background dancer under the mentorship of dance director B. Sohanlal.

In her last Instagram post, Saroj Khan had mourned the loss of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sad and tragic demise on June 14. The choreographer never worked with the actor. However, she revealed in her post she had met him a few times and how much she adored him as an actor. She also added that she loved his movies and will always love him. Along with a picture of the actor, the noted dance master wrote a touching note. The last rites of Saroj Khan will be performed at Malvani in Malad, Mumbai today. Saroj Khan's last movie as a choreographer was Karan Johar's 2019 release 'Kalank'.
