Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's husband and business tycoon Raj Kundra was arrested by Mumbai police on Monday evening (July 19) in a pornography creation and circulation case. The Mumbai police say it has strong evidence against Kundra. Amidst all the controversy, Shilpa has remained silent so far. Now according to a E-Times report, Mumbai police has revealed that the Hungama 2 actress will not be served a summon in the Raj Kundra case as was being speculated. A source close to Mumbai Police said, "Shilpa Shetty is one of the directors of Viaan Industries while the police investigation is probing into Kenrin only." Kenrin is a UK-based company and owner of the HotShots app, where the alleged porn content was distributed.
Kenrin is owned by Kundra's brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi, who is a British citizen and is married to Kundra’s sister. He is the Chairman of Kenrin, the company directly being held responsible in the pornography-related case. At a recent press briefing Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) had said, “Though the company was registered in London, the content creation, operation of the app and accounting was done through Kundra's Viaan Industries.” A day after, Kundra's arrest, Joint Commissioner of Mumbai Police, Milind Bharambe, at a press conference also commented on Shilpa Shetty’s role in the pornography case. He said that they have not found ‘any active role’ of Shilpa in the case, however, the investigation is still on. As per ANI, Bharambe was quoted as saying, “We have not been able to any find any active role (of Shilpa Shetty) yet. We are investigating. We’ll appeal to the victims to come forward and contact the Crime Branch Mumbai. We’ll take appropriate action.”
