Actress and wife of acclaimed director Maniratnam, Suhasini Maniratnam received her first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. The popular actress took to her social networking page to reveal that she has taken the vaccination and shared pictures of herself after getting the vaccination.Recently music composer Harris Jayaraj took the vaccination and also urged others not to delay their vaccination.
Suhasini is the latest Indian celebrity to have received the COVID-19 vaccine, after veterans like Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Mohanlal, Nagarjuna, Paresh Rawal, Satish Shah, Jeetendra, Kamal Haasan, Anupam Kher, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and comedian Johnny Lever. On March 1, the government launched the nationwide drive of getting everyone above 60 years of age -- and those aged between 45-59 with co-morbidities -- get vaccinated. On a related note, several leading Bollywood stars had contracted the deadly disease earlier. Actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Ranvir Shorey, Neetu Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, and others had been infected with the virus.
