“Sushmita Sen Inspired Me to Become an Actor” – Anubha Arora talks about Her Acting Journey

Anubha Arora, currently seen in Power of Paanch and soon to be featured in Vivek Agnihotri’s The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter, shares her inspiring journey into the entertainment industry.

“My family doesn’t have any connection with the industry. My papa is a little filmy. He loves watching movies and discussing them with so much passion.” Growing up in a non-filmy background, Anubha always had a deep admiration for acting. A defining moment for her was watching Sushmita Sen on an award show. “When Sushmita Sen went up on the stage, my parents had a very proud feeling. That was the time when I just thought that yes, acting can be considered. I wanted to be Miss World. I was fascinated by the way she carried herself with such grace and confidence.”

Her passion for performing arts found direction during college. “I wanted to explore an opportunity, and later on in college, I hit that chance. My interest started getting stronger, and I realized that this is where I truly belong. That was the start of my journey. And also, my parents were very supportive. They encouraged me to pursue what made me happy.”

Now, as an actress, she embraces versatility across mediums. “When I started working, I was open to TV, OTT, films, and all. I have gotten good opportunities in OTT, and I am satisfied with the way it has shaped up because I get to play so many characters. Every role brings a new challenge, and that’s what excites me the most.”

She also admires the consistency of TV actors. “One thing which I feel is commendable about television actors is that they carry and play the character consistently with so much grace and for so many years. It takes immense dedication to keep the audience engaged day after day, and I truly respect that.”
