He is all set to star alongside Nikita Dutta, Sahil Mehta, and Bhawsheel Singh Sahni in the much-anticipated historical thriller, The Waking of a Nation. Directed by the visionary Ram Madhvani and co-produced by RMF, Ram Madhvani, and Amita Madhvani, the series will premiere on Sony LIV on March 7th!
Madhvani’s upcoming historical thriller, The Waking of a Nation, delves into the events leading up to the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre along with the Hunter Commission's investigation into the tragedy. The series offers a gripping and thought-provoking exploration of whether the massacre was part of a larger conspiracy.
As seen in the teaser, Taaruk Raina playing the role of Kantilal Sahni, a lawyer, is all set to take the audience on a thriller ride with his intense and compelling transformation. Reflecting on landing the lead role in the series, Taaruk expressed his disbelief at being part of the show. He said, "I don't know why he (Ram) trusted me for this. I could never figure it out. But it's his faith that made me do what I do in the show. I didn't know Ram at all before my meeting with him in his office. When I met him for the first time, I was very scared because I had heard that he is very on point and that there is no room for mistakes and there is a lot of rehearsals, which is all there is, but he turned out to be the nicest guy out there, and I was very relieved with that.”
Speaking further about his admiration for Ram Madhvani and his work, Taaruk shared, “It amazes me how much love and passion he has for something he is making. For a person who has already accomplished so many incredible things in his life, the drive and sheer desire to create something amazing is truly inspiring. At this stage in my life, even if I have half of that, I win.”
