Tamil director and writer Ilavenil passed away yesterday in Chennai. He was in his 70s. According to media reports, he suffered a heart attack. Ilavenil is survived by his wife and two kids. The director is known for his film Uliyin Osai, which was written by Karunanidhi, and produced by S. P. Murugesan. The film released on 4th July, 2008 and it featured Vineeth and Keerthi Chawla in the lead roles.  DMK leader M.K. Stalin released a statement as he offered condolences to the director's family. 

Yesterday, KB Films’ Balu, who had produced several blockbuster Kollywood films including Prabhu’s Chinnathambi and Panchalankurichi, also died of cardiac arrest in Chennai.He was infected with COVID 19 and he was getting treated at the hospital for the same when he suffered a massive heart attack. According to media reports, K Balu's funeral took place today at 11.30 am at the E-Cemetery in Besant Nagar in Chennai. Many celebrities from the film industry have been sharing their condolence message mourning his demise.
