Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and his daughter Krishna Bhatt have been named in a new fraud case after a Mumbai-based businessman accused them of cheating him of ₹13.5 crore. Mumbai Police confirmed on Saturday that the case has now been transferred to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) for detailed investigation.

As per the FIR registered at Versova Police Station, the complainant alleged that the father-daughter duo persuaded him to invest a substantial sum in film projects and allied ventures, assuring him of high and assured returns. However, neither the promised profits nor the principal investment were returned, prompting the businessman to lodge a police complaint.

Considering the magnitude and financial complexity of the case, the investigation has been handed over to the EOW, which is scrutinising financial records, agreements and transaction trails linked to the alleged fraud.

The latest case adds to the legal troubles surrounding Vikram Bhatt. In December 2025, he and his wife Shwetambari Bhatt were arrested by Rajasthan Police in a separate ₹30 crore fraud case, also linked to proposed film ventures. The couple was subsequently sent to judicial custody in that matter
