Fourteen more coronavirus cases were reported in Gurugram on Saturday, taking the total cases to 193, including 89 active cases in different hospitals of the district.

Most new cases were from densely populated areas of old Gurugram. Some cases were reported from residential complexes.

Three new cases were reported from Ravi Nagar locality, 2 in Sarhol, 2 in Bhiwani Enclave, and one each in Sector 17, Shivaji Park, Dundehera, Sector 56, Arjun Nagar, Sikandarpur, and Mullahera.

Gurugram Civil Surgeon JS Punia said: "Seven of the new patients got infection from contact with positive cases. The remaining cases are from new areas of the city."

"They have been isolated in different government and private hospitals of the district and their houses declared as quarantine zones. Their family members have been asked to stay indoors for 21 days," Punia said.

A total of 52 persons are under close surveillance of health officials in different quarantine facilities.

The Gurugram district administration has drawn samples of 9,631 suspected patients so far, of which 9,163 tested negative. Reports of 271 persons are awaited.

With new cases reported from new areas, Gurugram district now has 35 containment zones, including 34 in Gurugram block. Earlier, Gurugram had 25 containment zones in the entire district.

"We have declared new containment zones after a review meeting on Friday evening," said Gurugram District Magistrate Amit Khatri.

Khatri said that Fazilpur Jharsa village, Javed colony, Pahad colony, Nat Colony, ITI Colony at Sohna, Raipur village, Shiv Kund, Mohalla Thakurwada Bhagat Wada, Ward numbers 11 and 14 in Pataudi have came out of the containment zones as no fresh case was reported from there.

Gurugram's containment zones include Ashok Vihar, Islampur village, Kadipur Enclave, Surat Nagar, Khandsa Road vegetable market area, Patel Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Anand Garden, Krishna Nagar, Jyoti Park, and Baldev Nagar.
