Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday urged migrants to stay in the city, promising them arrangements for their return journey back home, if required.

Briefing the media, the Chief Minister said the statements by the migrant workers from across the country show that the entire system has failed.

"The migrants are moving in large numbers. Their statements show that the system has failed, all the governments have failed. We are making all the arrangements for their stay, food and jobs (in Delhi). I urge all the migrants in Delhi to stay," Kejriwal said.

He also said that if anyone wants to go, the city government is making arrangements for their return. "Wait for sometime, walking for so many days on railway tracks, road is not safe," he said.

Kejriwal said those having COVID infection and mild symptoms are being kept inside their home.

"There is no treatment for coronavirus. Those in home quarantine are in touch with the medical staff. The serious cases are few and the critical cases were fewer in the city out of the total," he said.

The Chief Minister said the government has included the private hospital ambulances in the services.

"While they continue working for their hospitals, they will also serve as and when government demands."

Saying that the frontline workers will be treated in the five-star hotels, he said there are a number of frontline workers and it is the government's duty to do all it can to protect them.

"If any COVID warrior is sick, they will be treated in the extended services of the five star hotels attached to Rajiv Gandhi Hospital. The opposition mocked the order. What is the harm if we spend Rs 5-10 crore on the warriors. Why they have issue. This is not a time to do politics. This is time to stand together. I request all to avoid making any political statement," he said.

Delhi's total COVID tally has reached close to 6,950 on Sunday morning.
