Prince Charles remembered his father with an emotional post after he passed away on Friday.  The Prince of Wales remembered his “dear papa” in a video that was released by the official social media account of the Royal family. He said that he and the Royal family miss him “enormously. ”Sharing the video on Instagram, the Royal family wrote, “The Prince of Wales pays tribute to The Duke of Edinburgh on behalf of The Royal Family.” Prince Charles said that his father for the last 70 years had given the “most remarkable, devoted service” to the Queen, to my family, and to the country, but also to the whole of the Commonwealth. He added that his father was a “much loved and appreciated figure.”

He added that his “dear papa” was a “very special person who...above all else would have been amazed by the reaction and the touching things that have been said about him.” He added that “from that point of view we are, my family, deeply grateful for all that. It will sustain us in this particular loss and at this particularly sad time. ”The video was released after Prince Philip’s funeral was announced by the Royal family. The Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral will be held on April 17, Buckingham Palace said on Saturday, adding that their grandson Prince Harry would attend. Meghan, who is pregnant, will not attend on doctor’s advice, the palace said. The palace said long-established plans for the funeral had to be redrawn and scaled down because of COVID-19 restrictions, but they remained very much in line with Philip's wishes. Philip, who was officially known as the Duke of Edinburgh, will be given a ceremonial royal funeral, not a state funeral, as planned before the pandemic. But there will be no public processions, and it will be held entirely within the grounds of Windsor Castle and limited to 30 mourners.
