Oklahoma Tornado Video: At Least 10 Injured After Cyclonic Storm Hit Enid

At least ten people were injured on Thursday, April 23, and several homes and properties were flattened to the ground after a major tornado struck Enid, Oklahoma. Several videos show major destruction across the US state. 

As the tornado landed in northern Oklahoma, it damaged large parts of the Enid area in Garfield County. A video from Vance Air Force Base in Garfield County has gone viral on social media sites. Debris was seen shattered all over the ground, resulting in major property loss.

Emergency crews are at the spot and have launched rescue operations in the Grey Ridge neighbourhood in the Enid area. Garfield County Sheriff Cory Rink said agencies from surrounding counties were assisting with the efforts. Power lines were knocked down across Highway 81.

Mike Honigsberg, with the city of Enid, said that Gray Ridge on the south side of Enid has been levelled. He said it will take Friday to calculate the extent of the damage. The sheriff said people were trapped in houses and maybe even some vehicles. Emergency crews are going door to door in the hardest-hit areas, checking on residents and searching for anyone trapped in debris.

The Garfield County emergency manager said that at least 10 people were injured in the Gray Ridge neighbourhood in Enid. He said that they had minor injuries. No fatalities were reported at the time of writing this report.
