Romania Accident Video: Seven Greek Football Fans Killed After Car Crashes Head-On Into Truck; Dashcam Footage Surfaces

All seven people were killed after a head-on collision between a truck and a minivan in Ramania. The accident occurred on Tuesday, January 27, when a speeding vehicle carrying 10 Greek football club PAOK fans of the Thessaloniki side, overtook a vehicle and collided a heavy truck on the road. The accident took place on the E70 highway between the towns of Caransebes and Lugojel, in western Romania.

The people in the minivan were travelling from Greece to France to attend the Europa League match between PAOK and Lyon on Thursday, January 29. The three injured people were transported to a nearby hospital and later referred to Timisoara University Hospital, about 100 kilometres west of the crash site.

According to local media reports, Alexandria Mayor Panagiotis Girinis said three accident victims were from Alexandria, while a fourth was from the neighbouring regional unit of Pieria. He added that the victims from Alexandria were aged between 25 and 27.

Horrific dashcam footage surfaced on social media sites shows a black minivan overtaking another vehicle before colliding head-on with an oncoming truck at around 1 pm., according to the timestamp on the recording.
