d4vd, singer-songwriter, arrested on suspicion of killing 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The arrest of David Anthony Burke came after the decomposed body of the teenager was found last year in an abandoned Tesla car registered to him that was towed from the Hollywood Hills.
21-year-old Houston-born alt-pop singer whose legal name is David Burke was arrested without bail, said Los Angeles police in a statement. A case will be presented to the District Attorney's Office for consideration of charges on Monday.

“Detectives from Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery-Homicide Division have arrested David Burke, a 21-year-old resident of Los Angeles, for the murder of Celeste Rivas," the Los Angeles Police Department said in a post on X.
“The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s office on Monday for filing consideration,” it continued.
Interrogation of the singer is currently going on with the LA County grand jury. The arrest was made when the family filed an objection in a Texas court to subpoenas demanding they testify.
Who Was Celeste Rivas Hernandez?
Celeste Rivas was a 15-year-old seventh-grade student. Her decomposed body was found in a Tesla on September 8, 2025, a day after her birthday. Her parents filed a missing persons complaint in 2024 from her hometown, Lake Elsinore, about 70 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
The 2023 Tela Model Y was registered in the singer’s name in Texas. Shortly after she was identified, her family launched a GoFundMe titled "Help Celeste Rivas Hernandez's Family," on September 18 last year.
She was reported missing many times before her death. She ran away from home for the first time on Valentine's Day 2024 and returned a few days later. Her family reported her missing again on March 19, 2024, before she returned. She was reported missing for the last time on April 5, 2024.
