Know Why Eating Fresh Fruits is Healthier Than Drinking Fruit Juice

Health experts consistently recommend eating a variety of fruits for weight loss, overall health, and skin care. However, many people opt for fruit juice instead of consuming whole fruits. Nutritionists emphasize the importance of eating fruits over drinking juice. This raises the question: what is the difference between eating fruits and drinking fruit juice?

Nutritionist Riddhi Khanna explains that while both fruits and their juices have benefits, whole fruits are more advantageous.

Fruits are high in fiber, which supports digestion and helps regulate blood sugar. Eating fruits provides a significant amount of fiber, while juicing removes most of it.

Fruits also offer essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytochemicals that contribute to overall health and protect against diseases. Juices contain these nutrients but in lower amounts and lack fiber.

For weight loss, whole fruits are more effective than juices. They keep you feeling full longer, reducing overall calorie intake, whereas juice can lead to increased calorie consumption and weight gain.

Packaged juices pose additional risks due to their high sugar content and the presence of harmful preservatives, making it wise to avoid them.

In cases of dehydration, experts suggest consuming both fruits and juices for hydration. However, the absence of fiber in juice makes whole fruits the better choice for overall benefits.
