Beed Massajog Sarpanch By-Election Result 2026: Swarupanand Deshmukh Defeats Late Sarpanch’s Wife by 92 Votes

Massajog Sarpanch Election Result: Swarupanand won the by-election for the post of Sarpanch of Massajog Gram Panchayat in Beed district of Maharashtra. The results for the Sarpanch by-polls have been announced on Wednesday, April 29. Swarupanand defeated Ashwini Deshmukh, wife of the late Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, by a margin of 92 votes.

The election witnessed an intense battle, with both sides making strong efforts to establish their dominance in village politics. In the end, the villagers voted in favour of Swarupanand. Following his victory, celebrations erupted in the village, with supporters showering flowers to mark the occasion.

“I had been fighting for justice for Santosh Deshmukh earlier, and I will continue to fight for justice for him in the future as well,” said Swarupanand.

“This victory belongs to the young workers who supported me. It is a victory of self-respecting people. The villagers have recognised who can work for the development of the village in the coming years and have made me victorious,” he added.

Meanwhile, a voter turnout of 83.68% had recorded in the byelection for the post of sarpanch at Massajog village in the district. The election was necessitated following the murder of then sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh on December 9, 2024.

The bypoll witnessed a direct contest between Santosh Deshmukh’s wife, Ashwini Deshmukh, and Swaroopanand Deshmukh.

Meanwhile, during the counting of votes held today, Swaroopanand Deshmukh surprised everyone by taking the lead in the very first round. Ashwini Deshmukh then gained the lead in the second round. However, Swaroopanand Deshmukh secured a decisive advantage in the third and final round to seal the victory.

In the closely contested election, Swaroopanand Deshmukh defeated Ashwini Deshmukh by 92 votes and won the post of Sarpanch of Massajog.
