In view of the surge in coronavirus cases, all state board students across Maharashtra state from Class 1st to Class 8th will be promoted to the next class without any examinations. A decision regarding students of class 9th and 11th will soon be taken, Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad had said on Saturday.

There were talks that class 9 and 11 examinations would be conducted online. But now all these discussions have come to an end and the state government has taken a big decision.

An important decision has been taken by the school education minister Varsha Gaikwad to ensure that the students of class IX and XI pass the examination without any difficulty. Meanwhile, it is learned that the official announcement will be made after discussions with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

It is said that the decision was taken after a consensus was reached that it would not be appropriate to conduct a written test in view of the surge in covid cases in state. Therfore, students of class IX and XI will be given admission in the next class without any examination.
