The second wave of corona in Maharashtra has started to subside. But the threat of a third wave remains. A new variant called 'Delta Plus' has infected at least 48 people in the country, out of which 20 patients are from Maharashtra. This has increased the risk of corona. A possible third wave of corona will infect 50 lakh people in the state, including 5 lakh children, has been warned by the state's Food and Drug Administration Minister Dr Rajendra Shingane.

While talking to reporters in Buldhana, Rajendra Shingane commented on the Corona crisis and the third wave. When the third wave reaches its peak, the number of active patients will be around 8 lakh. About 5 lakh children will be infected with corona. Out of this, 2.50 lakh children will have to be admitted to the hospital. This has been discussed in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, 'informed Shingane.

Efforts are underway by the state government and administration to deal with the third possible wave. Work is underway to increase health care facilities, stockpile medicines, and equip health workers. In view of the danger posed by the third wave to children, a panel of pediatricians is also being set up, Shingane added.

The Maharashtra government on Friday decided to bring changes in the five-level Unlock plan for the time being. Instead of five, there will now be only three levels, with Level 3 having the maximum relaxation. The state informed that it will remove the Level 1 and Level 2 relaxation for now. All districts which currently fall under Level 1 and 2 will be automatically shifted to Level 3.
