A fire broke out on the Pune-Mumbai Intercity Express near Palasdari, close to Karjat, on Friday evening, February 15, causing panic among passengers. The blaze was spotted under the second and third coaches, prompting passengers to pull the emergency chain and halt the train.
Railway authorities were informed, and passengers were advised to remain inside the train. After the fire was successfully extinguished, the train resumed its journey. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
Efforts to reach railway administration officials for a statement remained unanswered.
