Thane Road Accident: Speeding Truck Rams Bike, Husband-Wife Die on the Spot near Kalwa

A speeding truck collided with two-wheeler near Kharegaon toll plaza in Kalwa near Nashik-Mumbai Highway. In this horrific accident, the husband, who was riding the two-wheeler and his wife who was seated behind him, died on the spot. The deceased couple has been identified as Kalpesh Rewale and Meenakshi Rewale , residents of Bhandup.

In connection with this incident, the Kalwa police have detained the truck driver and registered a case against him. Kalpesh and Meenakshi were traveling from Nashik towards Mumbai on their two-wheeler. As they approached the Kharegaon toll plaza, a speeding truck also traveling from Nashik crashed into their two-wheeler from behind. The impact was so severe that both individuals were thrown onto the road; they were subsequently run over by the truck's wheels and died instantly. A case has been registered against the truck driver, identified as Shivkumar, in connection with this incident.

Upon receiving information about the accident, personnel from the Thane Municipal Corporation's Regional Disaster Management Cell, officers and staff from the Kalwa police station, and traffic police officials immediately rushed to the scene. Traffic flow on the Mumbai-bound carriageway was disrupted for some time due to the accident. The police have sent both bodies to the District Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination; they also cleared the vehicles involved in the accident from the road, thereby restoring normal traffic flow.
