Maharashtra government will provide financial assistance of Rs 1500 to rickshaw drivers during the strict covid restrictions, but for that, the autorickshaw driver needs to show their Aadhaar card through an internet link. However, the Aadhaar card of many has not been linked to the bank account. Therefore, there is a big challenge in front of Kalyan RTO to link their Aadhar card with the account and so far out of 60,000 rickshaw drivers, not even 10,000 rickshaw drivers have been registered yet. Therefore, how to meet the target of registering 40,000 rickshaw drivers by the end of this month? RTO is facing this issue.

RTO official Tanaji Chavan said that they have now set up two centers at the RTO office to link Aadhaar cards so that no mistake is made. Through that, Aadhar card will be linked to the autorickshaw driver's account. THe linking work was supposed to be done from Friday. Chavan also said that the target is to cross the 10,000 mark in two days on Saturday and Sunday. Earlier, the software was not available, but now the aadhar card linking problem has arisen, which is delaying the actual rickshaw drivers from getting help.

Earlier, rickshaw drivers were unable to link the bank account as the website was slow. Therefore, the rickshaw association had expressed its displeasure. There are large areas like Badlapur, Ambernath, Kalyan-Dombivali, Murbad in this RTO area, about 60,000 rickshaw drivers will get that help. But some are facing problems like license, Aadhaar card, bank account, bank etc. Officials said the work was being delayed and it was not possible to say how long it would take to reach the money till them.
