Kalyan: MSRTC Bus Driver Thrashes Passenger at Murbad Depot for Asking Bus Information; Suspended

A shocking incident from Maharashtra’s Kalyan-Murbad MSRTC depot has triggered outrage on social media after a youth was allegedly assaulted while asking about bus availability. Videos of the altercation, which have now gone viral online, reportedly show a heated argument involving MSRTC staff and a bus driver at the Murbad bus depot.

According to reports, the incident took place when the young passenger approached the station controller to inquire about a bus to Kalyan. What reportedly began as a routine question soon escalated into a verbal altercation. During the argument, MSRTC driver Dutta Bhalerao allegedly intervened and physically assaulted the youth in full public view. Several passengers present at the depot recorded the incident on their mobile phones, leading to the video spreading rapidly across social media platforms.

The viral footage sparked widespread criticism online, with many questioning passenger safety and the conduct of public transport staff. Following the backlash, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) suspended the accused driver and launched an internal inquiry into the matter. Officials stated that further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
