Protesters from various places including Raigad, Thane, Palghar and Kalyan had participated in the agitation. During the protest, a delegation of protesters from Navi Mumbai went to CIDCO Bhavan and gave a statement. Strict police security was deployed in Navi Mumbai today against the backdrop of the agitation. The CIDCO building was heavily barricaded.

Thousands of protesters from Navi Mumbai, Panvel, Uran, Kalyan, Dombivali and Palghar had participated in the agitation. Announcing DB Patil's name, the citizens demanded that the state government should take note of DB Patil's contribution and name the international airport in Navi Mumbai after him. Meanwhile, BJP MLA and MP along with MNS MLA Raju Patil had also joined the agitation. MNS president Raj Thackeray has said that Navi Mumbai airport is the second part of Mumbai airport and it would be more appropriate to name it after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
