A shocking incident came to light on Monday in Salgaon village within the taluka, where an elderly woman who had gone to resolve a dispute between a husband and wife was stabbed to death by her own son and granddaughter. In connection with this case, a murder complaint has been registered at the Partur Police Station against the deceased woman's son and granddaughter. The deceased woman has been identified as Vasantabai Munja Thoke.
The complaint was lodged by Munja Tulshiram Thoke (59), a daily wage worker and resident of the village. His middle son, Anshiram Thoke, lived separately with his wife Kavita and their children. According to the complaint, the incident took place on April 25 at around 5:30 PM. When Munja Thoke returned home after work, he found an argument escalating between Anshiram and his wife Kavita. He, along with his wife Vasantabai, stepped in to defuse the situation.
However, the situation quickly turned violent. Munja Thoke and Vasantabai reportedly saw Anshiram and his daughter assaulting Kavita. Anshiram was holding a knife at the time. When the elderly couple tried to intervene, the daughter allegedly provoked her father, urging him to kill Vasantabai. In a fit of rage, Anshiram stabbed his mother in the chest. She collapsed immediately due to severe injuries. After the attack, both Anshiram and his daughter fled the scene. Family members rushed Vasantabai to the Government Hospital in Selu, but doctors declared her dead on arrival.
The Partur Police have registered a case of murder against the accused father and daughter. A search operation is currently underway, and further investigation is in progress.
