On behalf of the MNS delegation, a statement was submitted to Kalyan Tehsildar Deepak Akade regarding reduction of fuel prices. The oil marketing companies on Friday decided to continue raising the price of petrol with the pump price increasing by 28 paise and 38 paise per litre respectively in Mumbai. "Spending Rs 150 daily on petrol. 40-50% of salary gets spent on fuel itself. Situation has worsened after the lockdown," said a local.

The increase has taken petrol price in Mumbai closer to Rs 100 a litre with its retail price now reaching Rs 94.64 a litre. Diesel is also most expensive in Mumbai at Rs 85.32 a litre.

The petrol and diesel prices have increased 15 times in 2021 with the two auto fuels increasing by Rs 4.14 and Rs 4.16 per litre respectively so far this year.
